Canon 70 - 210mm is one of the sharpest lenses, of this range [ price & focal length ]. all i had 2 do was 2 become brave enough 2 satnd closer 2 the danger line, where a horse can run u over anytime. the tent peggers swing the lance when they pull the peg or attempt, its only a fraction of a second when they pass u with speedy horse & swinging lances if u stay too close 2 them. many a times people yelled at me 2 move away 4 my sfety..but u ppl know the fire & the passion that brings out such photos. i'm happy i shot it.

last year, shooting tent peggers in Kanjwani, one of my colleagues G R had a Canon 100mm f2.8 lens on his Canon 350 D camera. he was standing too close 2 the white danger line. but the photos he produced were stunning in terms of sharpness, detail & clarity. this year i tried 2 do the same & i'm so happy with the results. regards!

A fantastic image! I love that I can see small pieces of dirt flying in the air above the rider's head. A great capture on your part!

thanx everybody & Forsstedt, i don't trust horses either, even if they r carrying accomplished riders. accidents r frequent in such events & an everyday happening. horses do get out of control & run over the audience, riders do fall, flying lances cut & bruise the spectators. what's so magnificent about this is the raw energy that this game involves. u have 2 watch ur own safety. regards!
