Sharpened and levels adjusted in PS. I used also a Manfrotto-tripod for this one.

This was being shot on a rather dark and cold environment. I exposed

30 second and manually focused the lens. The temperature was about -15

degrees and the lake was just starting to freeze. I could hear the

sound of the swans from this direction, but I could not get them into

this image. However, I like the atmosphere in this photo. The light

and the frozen trees, etc...

Would you like to give any critique or comments from this one? Thank

you for your time.

I like this one a lot. It is a good composition with soft beautiful colours an light. Good exposure and very moody. Very nicely done.

The sound of swans doesn't come through to me. If there were swans on the ice in the foreground, it would be a superb picture, and I get the sense that the photographer knew this. This seems to be one of those situations where the wildlife photo didn't develop as intended, but the photo was taken anyway. Sometimes that works, but most of the time it doesn't.

Erik, thank you for your kind comment! As I tried to tell in the original text, I knew that there were swans in somewhere near. But it was so dark and the sounds were distant that I very much deliberately pointed my lens to this position and exposed the frame. Exposure time was 30 seconds, so getting anything like a bird staying on place, unmoved, for such time was purely hypothetical. :-) But getting the swans as bonus, would have been a real blast, wouldnt it? Allmost all photos that I have uploaded during the last three days are from that same photo session. The light and the weather was superb and so, I just enjoyed shooting many kind of subjects. Fair enough? :-D
