soenda 0 Posted November 5, 2006 Striking how much impact the partial shot of the mandolin has. I wonder, is it because our field of view is restricted to certain details? Or is it like the appeal of a wrapped package over an item that's handed to you? I've long thought that clothing plays a strong part of the appearance of sexiness. Here you offer us just enough of the instrument's body for us to appreciate its deep curve...just a sample of the sounding board's woodgrain and the abalone inlay, leaving us to imagine the rest. We're left to imagine the pegheads and posts. The combination light and black background isolate the mandolin wonderfully. It becomes a photographic encounter that speaks to visual and tactile senses. I can imagine this style appealing to an instrument maker. It awakens a strong desire to take the mandolin in my hands. dave_dube 10 Posted November 7, 2006 Hi Charles! Well, for me, the colors/tones, angles/lines and lighting really make this a very attractive photo. I'm not even looking at it as a Mandolin or that it's a musical intrument, just very pleasant to view.Well done! Warm Regards, Dave Link to comment
naman_gupta 0 Posted March 6, 2007 A beautiful picture . It somewhat gives a feeling of Peacock feather(personal thoughts) , very nice. And ya thanks for viewing guitar, well I am still reading the thick book that came with my Nikon,so still working on things like ISO and shutter speed. Your portfolio is impressive. Take care.
