michael foy 0 Posted November 1, 2006 Are the arms at her side in this pose? I like the pose as it is. Also it is so detailed and the lighting is great. Link to comment
steven_barall 0 Posted November 1, 2006 I assume that the leather thing she is wearing is important. It's an overtly sexual clue but that's where it ends. For me, the rest of the photo doesn't support it or go in that direction. Do you think that there is some aspect of large format photography that was necessary for the production of this photo? I guess I'm asking if your chosen format influences your photos. I agree about the crop of the photo. I think if it's cropped tighter she will look more confrontational or if the crop is looser I could get a sense of the space she is in and she would look more dimensional. For me, the crop looks like its kinda caught in between. When you're shooting large format you really have to have a lot of stuff figured out in advance. Believe me, I have shot a lot of large format. It's a truley great discipline though. Good Luck. Link to comment
robertfarnham 0 Posted November 1, 2006 Steven, I don't think that this photo required LF to be created, it was what I was using at the time, though. I'm still getting used to using the 8x10...it's a bit of a beast to say the least. I have grown a bit bored with digital. I find it's too easy to use, without much challenge as I chimp my way through thousands of photos. The LF does require much though before, during and after the exposure. I'm happy simply to see an image on the neg when I turn on the lights. I have to admit I wasn't too sure how to crop this. I played around and landed on one that fit the 13x19 paper I was printing on. Sure, not a great basis for a decision, but that was my mood last night :-)I'm attaching the full frame for reference. It's not bad, now that I look at it again...maybe I should have kept my grubby paws off it.Robert Link to comment
robertfarnham 0 Posted November 1, 2006 ...and some detail. It's a little soft compared to some others I've done. Link to comment
