Thanks, Linda! I don't dress up very often. LOL!! It was a fundraising "gala". Silent auction, dinner, concert, etc.... It was actually a lot of fun. I actually had to go out to buy a dress. Haha! Anyway - the gal who organized the event is a friend of mine, and she e-mailed that picture to me because they had a "professional photographer" taking photos and she noticed that one of me, and thought I might like to keep a copy of it.

Anyway - this is the type of thing that I was talking about when I commented on your pumpkins photo. :-) I was busy trying to convince my students NOT to walk into people's yards to take photos, so I had to resist the temptation to do the same myself. Can you imagine in a ritzy neighborhood like Arlington, looking out your front window and seeing a dozen kids with cameras standing in your front yard taking photos of the "porsche" emblem on the front of your car? LOL!! It was funny!!

Well, we're doing very small scale "interest" groups, chosen by the students. We meet only once a week for about 15 minutes. Some of the other groups are things like knitting and sports and yo-yo-ing, etc. But with the photography group, we don't have "enough" time in 15 minutes to *take* photos, so we look at photos and discuss them. Then, every couple of weeks, we take any super-interested students out with their cameras and shoot for an hour or two or three. We've gone to downtown DC to shoot the monuments decorated for the holidays, we've gone to Arlington Cemetery, etc. And, yes, I've got LOTS of photos of the kids taking photos. But I don't feel comfortable posting them on the internet ... so you won't see them here on PN..... Trust me ... we have a BLAST! :-)

Have your students come off their sugar high yet? Ours are just starting to settle down again :) Love your new bio pic...your friend was right, that is a great shot! Hope the rest of your week goes well. I'm in 3rd grade tomorrow :) LOVE third grade...what a great bunch of kids.

Funny, Leslie - I was just telling my 8th graders that if I wanted to teach 3rd graders, I'd be teaching in the third grade. That was supposed to be a reprimand. LOL!! :-)
