Scary Duck!

I don't think the Grizzly was actually looking at the duck - it just

seems to be doing so in the photo. I had thought of cropping the

duck out but for the time being I've left it in.

Beautiful shot! And it looks to me like the grizzly's looking at you!

Anyone care if I crop out the duck? The more I look at it the more i think this wants to be a vertical.

It is a great photo, the fact that the bear isn't focused on the duck would make taking it out ok in my humble opinion.

I may be in the minority but I would keep the duck. I think it definitely adds interest to the photo. Although some say he isn't looking at it, I feel an interaction between them that is interesting and perhaps cute. The juxtaposition between the powerful grizzly and the little duck makes the photo for me. It take it from a simple wildlife photo to something with a little more human interest.

PS. Nice DOF and perspective

I agree with Allen. The sitting duck does make lot of difference to the image.

I wouldn't change a thing here! Superb capture. Cracked me up first time I saw it :) Beautifully-captured moment. The duck adds a point of secondary interest, leaving the viewer thinking, "What was that bear thinking?"

I completely agree! Keep it in, even though it's blurred a bit - this makes the whole thing even more special (rather get rid of that distracting signature...;-))

without the duck its a complete different story. I like how you can almost feel what the bear is thinking by his expression looking at the duck.
