This is a shot that I've gotten some good responses on from family

and friends, so I'm curious to see what true photo enthusiasts have

to say. Thanks in advance.

This is a unique, funny picture. I would like it even more if the snail's body were clear. It's wading through what?...slime, water, sludge? So and so, the reflection on the "water" in front of it's body is a little bit distracting. Otherwise good picture. The background is out of focus nicely. Enough to see what it is, not enough to take eyes away from the main subject. I would rate it five out of seven, and seven out of seven if the whole snail were clearly visible without the reflections in the front. :-) Micheal

I can tell why your family and friends love it. It is good. I would like the green to be a little more saturated but this really is fine as is.

The snail is wading through water. I used a macro lens to capture this shot and I was really surprised by the detail the lens picked up...how you can see the thin layer of water covering the ground and partially consuming the snail, which was not perceptible to my naked eye. It's the macro lens that gives this shot such a shallow depth of field. I just put the camera on the ground, framed it and took the shot...and I'm surprised it came out so well, it looked a little blurry thru the viewfinder. I can see what you mean about the reflections in front and green saturation, altho this was shot on Fuji!
