I was wandering on sand dunes, looking for images to photograph.

At one point, when I looked behind, I saw this: my own footprints.

Your comments will be appreciated.

Its Good, But I think the footprints actualy spoil it somewhat. If I was at that spot I would have liked to get closer to the ground to show more detail of the texture in the sand.

Brad, footprints in sand or mud are always thought provoking. It is like a photograph of our own footprints is somewhat of a confirmation of our existence, an impression made while passing through, even a comment on our journey. A lot can be read into photographs of footprints and they seem even more poignant when they are our own.

It is interesting to compare the ridgeline of the dune to a graph or map and see how the footprints wander from the mapped course as we all do at sometime in our lives. Unfortunately the bright sky and background do not add much other than location. I would like to have seen the long line of prints somewhere where the location is not so specific or at least less intrusive to give the prints more leeway in their context.

From someone who has numerous photographs of his own footprints (needed lots of confirmation) I hope that this is possibly a subject you will continue to examine. Fifty years from now, when you see this image again you will be drawn into its story of your personal journey.

Tim, thank you for your visit and comments! I got your point. Thanks again.

Gary, my sincere thanks for taking your time to share your thoughts with me. Yours is a vey valuable remark. I especially appreciate your suggestion. From next time I visit sand dunes, I will look back from time to time to seize the opportunity to make images of my own footprints. They will become a series around one metaphoric theme...
