dave_dube 10 Posted October 29, 2006 Another creative capture. Basket full of grubs? I haven't lived in the NE for 27yrs now but this looks like a Red-bellied woodpecker. Wheither a flicker or a pecker, you can keep them. Flickers are always nailing on my metal barn roof when I'm trying to sleep in and the peckers and sapsuckers just make a real mess out of my trees. Trees under 15yrs old can have soo much activity that sap nolonger can get to the crown. Anyway, you should use some of your talent for attracting birds to get shots of the less abundant and rarer birds in your area. I think most PN viewers would like to see a shot that appears less staged. The key work here is "appears" less staged. Link to comment
joe baker pine bush ny 0 Posted October 29, 2006 the more rare birds in this area; the Green Heron and the Baltimore Oriole. the two birds that have eluded me for years, are gone by this time of the year. some of my staged bird photos have been my biggest sellers. Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted October 30, 2006 Joe, you know what your folks want. I know what I and probably many other PN folks want from you - something less than ordinary. That's what drives the PN viewers. If you get a rating of 6/6 as an average on one of your bird photos, you'll be able to get much, and I mean much more for those photos. Quantity vs Quality (rarity)! At one time you asked me for some advice, that's what I'm giving you. I'm encouraging you to move up to the next level.Regards, Dave Link to comment
