It somehow doesn't feel sharp enough and the earrings are not strong enough to draw the eye... maybe a deeper focus to get some detail on the heel... too much empty space at the bottom as well...

Thanks for that Daniel :) I'd tend to agree. I had similar sentiments, but I thought I'd post it as is, to see what feedback I'd get.

Hello, although I like the idea of what you have tried here, I'm not convinced this is the best result possible. The lighting is pretty good, it's high key and very even, but the ear rings are just not sharp enough, for me at least. A minor point, but the clear plastic disks on the ear rings make them look rather cheap and gaudy, rather than costly and stylish. Again, this is just my opinion.

I think the tiara shot looks about right.

Best wishes. Pete

Thank you for your candour, Pete. I thought the same about the plastic rings, and now I'm convinced I should PS them out.

As for the sharpness, I 'cheated' by using a macro kit which IMHO is akin to attaching a magnifying glass to the front of my lens. Even though I had plenty of time to set up using tripod, etc., I've always found that when using a macro kit then manually focusing my 28-105 (as I did here) it's notoriously tricky to get pin sharp photos.

I should think using a true macro-capable lens would yield superior results...

Once again, thank you for your useful comments!

Hi Mark,

I like the idea, you might be right about 28-105. I guess you may use 50/1,8 II in this case. Greetings from you Ukraine.

PS. if you have the ICQ account drop me a line, it will be interesting

to keep in touch with ya. Here is mine ICQ. 7397620.

Take care.

Sergey
