Lots of butterflies out today...comments?

I don't know how you get these shots. Detail is unbelievable. I'm not big on bugs though. The background here is great, too.

I have never taken a good butterflu shot. This one has good details & lighting.

The lighting and DOF on this is wonderful...like a painting on velvet! (well, better class than that!)

We have literally thousand of butterflies right now! We've never seen this many before, especially at this time of year. For every "different" butterfly, such as the one pictured in my original post, there are about 100 of the American Snout (Libytheana carinenta) butterflies (see above). These are flying around in clouds right now! They are quite ugly for a butterfly!

Thanks for the positive comments. I don't often shoot butterflies, but how can you resist when there are thousands around?!

And you can get shots like this one! The colors are simply luscious!
