raymondyeung 0 Posted January 23, 2009 Very creative and aesthetic. You manage natural color very well. Can you share with us the technical details? I have a clumsy way and I want to see whether you have a better way. I would rate this picture 7/7 but the system does not allow me to do so for the time being. Will do it later. BTW, I like this one better than the other similar one you have posted. -- Raymond Link to comment
claudia romero godat 0 Posted January 23, 2009 Thank you all for your encouraging comments, I appreciate your time and words :) Raymond, sad to say this, but there was nothing fancy about this pic... I was taking pics of flowers one afternoon after a rainy morning... while doing so, I noticed the tiny snail, the clean leaves and the "path of light" created by the bit of sun starting to shine. I took this pic with a mavica minolta on Macro mode, thus the short DOF... just moved around a bit to get the angle of sun a bit in diagonal and a bit of "contra luz"? not sure of the translation (shooting against the light)... a bit of adjustment in contrast and a bit of cropping. That is about it :) Thanks again for all your feedback and looking forward to seeing more of your work Claudia Romero Link to comment
raymondyeung 0 Posted January 25, 2009 I suppose you use auto white balance. In that case, if you like the color produced by your camera, you'd better hold on to it as long as you can. I also find the optical quality of the lens very outstanding, which is the case for many older digital cameras because at that time they needed to compete with conventional cameras and hence they put in very good lenses. If you look around, you will find that very few digital cameras on the market, if any, can produce natural color at this quality consistently with either auto or preset white balance. In my case, I have a very special but very complicated way to tune my camera, which took me two months to obtain the color you see in my pictures. Link to comment
claudia romero godat 0 Posted January 26, 2009 Hi Raymond, Thanks for sharing your insight... to be completely honest, when I shot this pic, I don't thing I wasn't too in handling WB, I am still trying to figure out how to use it in the best way :) In this pic. I did some slight adjustments in color.. added a bit of yellow (If I remember well) to reduce a bit of the blue... But regarding the lense quality, I guess you are right, I was happy with the opticals, specially with the macro mode...BTW I Love your work :) Best Regards,Claudia Romero Link to comment
