bijeaux 0 Posted October 27, 2006 Very cool shot. I can see the excitement and in the cats eye... Tony Link to comment
jwblankenship 0 Posted October 29, 2006 The lack of sharpness and excited subject are well suited for one another. Nice shot. Link to comment
louise bridge 0 Posted October 31, 2006 Hey, that's great! Geez, you are expert to have gone with this with the plant in front of the kitten's other eye like that. This causes a funny tension in the viewer because of only the one eye of the kitten being visible. Kitten looks like he's about to pounce any second and that added tension from only getting to see the one eye just suits the very momentary situation. This is a delightful image and very witty. lanam 0 Posted October 31, 2006 love the contrast, the blurring... though I wish the other eye were at least partly visible. sweet thing! Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted May 15, 2007 It is B&W gone into color. Was it exposed wrong? I see it was taken in the 50'S I absolutely love the fuzzy picture of the cat. It is just weird because there is that one leaf and the top of the frame on the right that seems to be out of place. The SEPIA feel to the right and then the HIGH-KEY to the left is a wilet feel. Hmmmm it is just so different feeling like it was a fluke when you developed it. A GREAT FLUKE! So...are you going to tell us why this is special?? Curious! Oh, and I absolutely love it with the eye peeking out! Link to comment
snapshooter 0 Posted May 16, 2007 Oh Micki, you're just another curious kitten. This is a scan of an old print that is starting to stain, but I didn't want to crop it. I forfeited the negative to U.S. Camera magazine in their 1957 contest. It won 2nd prize out of over 82,000 entries from amateurs and professionals from 52 countries. AND IT ISN'T EVEN SHARP. I shot it just before dark, with a Rollieflex, at 1/15th sec, wide open(maximum aperture). Link to comment
leonora_nikolova 0 Posted January 24, 2010 This is so wonderful, and it's great that it was appreciated with a prize. Yes it is not sharp, but it is so original and soulful. It just proves what is at the bottom line of photography. Link to comment
