pnital 36 Posted October 25, 2006 David, this really looks like a painting, there is some atmospher of time change, a soft one, a bit melancholic( in a very positive notion). I think I would have liked the tree on the right a bit more to the right. I like the light, a bit dim on the lower part and more "glowing " on the upper . Beautiful. I'm glad to see you David, an email will soon follow ;-)) Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted October 25, 2006 Hello David. Perfect exposure or HDR merging work, cannot judge without your explanation. To me, this image has a sense of joyful sunny atmosphere, but the dark forest in the background can hide many secrets. I like the colors, vibrant, yet realistic. Fairy-tale-like. Best wishes. colin carron 58,916 Posted October 26, 2006 Beautiful study of sunlight on leaves. I am happy with the placing of the tree as you can then show the full width of the tree canopy and create a diagonal band of light on the darker background. Very good and expressive tonal range from bright sunlight down to deep woodland shade. As commented it has a painted feel about it. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted October 28, 2006 Stunning quality of colors and tones, extremely difficult backlight. Optimistic feeling, uplifting. I am not sure about the tree position, what about a slight crop from the right side ? Link to comment
david robinson 0 Posted October 29, 2006 Thanks Peter, Pnina, Colin and Carsten. This is not a HDR processed image Peter. I would have done so had I had three exposures but for some stupid reason I shot a single exposre of this scene. I ended up creating a second exposure from my raw file and blended the two files to get at this dynamic range. Perhaps a slightly different camera placement would have added to the composition with the tree being more on the right side than centered. Still, I like this one for its contrast with the dark forest. Thanks again folks... Link to comment
