olafdevries 0 Posted October 24, 2006 Umair.., good "portrait!" I'm curious how you "see" the title. Innocence.. for me, are children untill about seven. Every grown up person is in a certain way "guilty.." You can see that on his face too.. It's not the innocence of a child. He is carrying a burdon. (Older) people can indeed have it, when they did found a solve.. for the being "guilty.." Being forgiven. Then you see deep happyness.. and innocence.. Regards! Olaf. Link to comment

awaraagard 0 Posted October 24, 2006 food 4 thought dear Vries. pretty complicated stuff if we move out of photo & discuss philosophy. well, i do believe that elderly r in a way innocenct. i live in a society where elderly people r taken care of, respected & considered innocent regardless of whatever they have done during their lives. it never stops them from praying & caring 4 their families. they spend their time in a tranquil flux, moving about, socialising, praying, doing tis bits of household stuff, buying presents 4 the kids or telling tales of experience 2 the young, giving counsel in family affairs. but, nobody demands more than that from them. regards! soltani 0 Posted October 24, 2006 This is a very beautiful photo. I love the color and how well u captured his pose. "watching life go by" reminds me of jiddu Krishnamurti. Your answer to Olaf would also be valid for the people of my country. Thank you for mentioninig this point.Regards. Ali. Link to comment

olafdevries 0 Posted October 25, 2006 Umair.. I do know what you mean! I can't look in the hearts of people and I am not in the position to "judge" Wasn't my intention, more seeing a part of the reality. It was just because of the title.. "Age.." and "digging" in it is giving the photo an extra demension. Thanks for your more than five words reaction! That's as important as the good photo it self. Olaf. Link to comment

Kostas Angelopoulos 0 Posted October 25, 2006 The title is everything! Gives life to this nice photo and making it a poem. Presenting in three magic words all the way of living you desctibe above dear Umair. I personally didn't need the explanations to get the picture. I got it immediately. Your reward is that spesific moment of inspiration and the honour to represent this culture to the others. These people deserve it. I feel strange to say such nice things but i'm really moved. cherlyn 1 Posted October 26, 2006 What I like here is placing hime at the almost perpendicular red wall & ground compostion . His white attire stands out very well against the red/brown tones. I also like his expression which though aged, but still show a kind of intelligence & acute sharpness. Link to comment
