Very good night shot Marvin, great exposure.

I have a 20D too, and to tell the truth, it's hard to capture a noise-free shot by this camera at low-light condition. You have managed perfectly well, congradulation: your shot boasts perfect composition and mood.

I don't have much trouble with dark shots on the 20D unless the range of brightness in the shot far exceeds the sensor's dynamic range. My advice: check your settings, deliberately underexpose (the light meter will try to lighten this shot), shoot in raw.

I've other shots earlier in the sequence of the moonrise. Since the moon is not as bright I'll give them a try.
