You are standing in the entrance to the great Basilica of St. Anne deBeaupre. The site of many miracles, the original foundation of thisfamous church dates to 1658 and is built over a natural spring. Theinterior is illuminated by over 200 stained glass windows; the walls, floor, and ceiling are embelished with intricate mosaics. Many lookupon this place as the "Lourdes" of North America.

I would be interested in hearing your opinions about this photograph.Thank you.

I like the way the ceiling leads you down the aisle.

I have tried photos of this place on my way to Charlevoix and I was not as successful as this.

I prefer the other similar one in your portfolio.

While I personally like the way this came out, the version with the discarded crutches is more interesting to me, too. It portrays more of what is actually going on at this place. Regards.

Walter, you write that the interior is illuminated through windows - on this shot it looks more like artificial illumination. Or is it a combination of both ? I like the honey tones and rich ceiling decoration. This image must look great printed large. Best regards. Peter

It is a combination of both, but in this particular photograph it is predominantly incandescent illumination; thus the low Kelvin temperature. Regards.

This shows the magnificence and glory of this incredible structure. I love the perspective...at first it seems usual, but the composition is careful and effective.

Perfect exposure, imo. Warm and inviting composition. I, too, prefer the one with the crutches for the interest value, but this one for the aesthetic value.

This is beautiful. The architecture is stunning and the lighting here is very inviting. I took a look at the other and although I find it interesting, I just love the symmetry here. Very nice.

Amazing colors and details. Looking at it gives me a feeling that I'm actually standing at the entrance. Wonderful (and much better with the 'larger' view)!!
