Warwick Long Beach, looking east

This seemed so much more than "just another beach" with the

luminous turquoise sea and pink Bermuda sand - I hope the

photo expresses this.

 

Comments and critiques much appreciated.

I was wondering how you managed to take a photograph of Warwick Long Bay in September without it being chockablock full of people - is this just before Hurricane Florence, do you remember? That would also explain the surf too. I am glad you found this beach special too! on a photographic note, you have the colours just right, but I wonder if the left should be cropped a bit more, so that it purposefully looks like you weren't trying to include that area of wet sand.

Thank you Lucy. It was a little after the hurricane but another one made a near-miss which got the surf up for a few days. Good idea about the crop - I shall try it.

Greetings to you sir :) I have learned much from your photos and their subsequent critiques. My comment is more of a question than a critique. I thought it might be interesting seeing this image in a panoramic view maintaining the top to bottom scale with the girl and more of the unseen dune/greenery at 1/3 left and the sea at 2/3's right. Although small in portion the girl is looking out toward the sea which seems minimized with the vertical view. Might a panoramic view be visually more interesting? Thank you for your images.

Thank you Troy. The problem is that you can't do everything in one picture - here I was trying to emphasise the shoreline using "telephoto" perspective (the foreground was actually 30 feet from me). The equivalent in horizontal frame would make more of the sea and/or the beach but less of the shoreline itself.

 

I did take some wider angle horizontal shots but they looked more like standard beach scenes with the far part disappearing into the distance (and the figure tiny).
