Those houses are the living quarters of the tea plantation workers who came mostly from Bangladesh, nepal & Sri Lanka. They were paid USD0.05/kg of tea leaves they collect. Each day they can collect about 80-100 kgs of tea leaves & they carry 40-80 kgs per load. Even when they are very uphill, they need to make their way down to the tea-leaves collection centre. Hard earned money.

Superb shot, Cherlyn. Beautiful composition, colors and clouds. Excellent balance. Very nice image.

PS.- About the payment they recieve ... is something hard to believe. C'est la vie.

There are some dream places where one feels there will be enough evening tea for the entire winter. Lucky to have been there!
