I visited your portfolio and LOVE your work.. really great stuff- very inspiring! I personally would love to see a study of this cat like you did with Missy, since this is such a unique rare breed. Honestly, I think this image falls a little short of the others since I find myself studying the greenhouse in the background as much as the cat, but it is certainly a cute shot. Maybe if you threw the background out of focus more to help seperate or chose different background or used wider lens wide open closer up to fill frame, but still keep the backyard visible. Just my.02. I look forward to reviewing your portfolio again at more length!

Lol - nice title - one of the better cat shots I've seen for sure - I pretty much like everything about it - including the image processing ..... And let's just not let Missy know - (-;

Thanks for taking your time to leave a comment here ... very appreciated - and I agree with most of your thoughts. As to your proposal for the cat to pose like Missy it's almost impossible... he is always on the move and he doesn't have Missy's eyes. What ever I shoot of him and his brother it has to be on their terms. As for the F this is taken in pretty far distance - 10-15 meters I think and the F was set to 4 and with my very little knowledge I think there is something about the sharpnes point being from 2-3 meters infront of the focus point to 2-3 meters behind and I guess that's why the 'vegetation' and greenhouse being so 'clear'. The photo has got some USM and contrast and then the background was lightened several steps.

...how nice to have you here in my backyard ( step a side cat).

It's JUST a little something I thought had something ( got that?) In a way I think it looks like an illustration to an older kid's book or a mix of 2 photo's which it isn't - a little strange.

I think I have it a little like you with portraits: it's not enough with a nice close up portrait. It's the surroundings makinng it interesting ... making the mood.

For the treatment please read my comment to Chris .... and suggestions are allways welcome.

As for Missy The Queen she really hates these louts. They don't have her permission to be here and she thinks they are noisy - eating too much of her dinner - taking the best places for sleep etc. I often have her suspected for keeping them away from the door.

Thanks for taking time Ken ... always a pleasure cowboy.

Is this a new cat (you say two? ... so new cats?)? I love the spots! The background definitely does make thsi shot. I get the feeling that he's feeling like he's the size of a lion, his personality filling the gap! :-) Lots of fun, Bente! How's your weather?

LOL ... first thanks for leaving your comment here. Glad you see too what I saw in this snapshot.

And concerning the cats: Yes ... there are 2 of these cats included in the household now.

Story is that Laban ( the young grey cat)disappeared one year ago. 3 weeks after his diappearing these 2 arived - brothers and Bengal Cats. The other brother is my bio pict right now. There should only have been one but it was soooooooo hard to choose. When they had been living here for about 2 weeks Laban returned so as a math teacher I guess you can figure how many cats are living here now .... sighhhhhhhhhhhhh. And for there personalities they never have broplems of whom having the right to rule ... when they can't see Missy.

I'll put a pair more shots of this cat sitting in the kitchen ( hint Lou Ann: kitchen)

The weather Lou Ann is for the season as it should be ... colder with grey sky. Winter is pretty closeeeeeeeee but we can't complain on the weather this summer. Has been the warmest and longest summer for more than 100 years ... and even now it's better than usual. ... And that was the weather forecast for Ringsted today. Your host has been ... Glad to see you here Lou Ann .... really

Maybe a bit more cropping on the right would help focus attention directly on the cat, but I like that background as a setting for the cat. GORGEOUS cats, Bente!

Our mama cat just had two more kittens, darn it! We tried to catch her to get her in to be fixed, but couldn't catch her. Even a $14 sedative didn't work! The babies are about 2 weeks old and we MUST get her in this time! Babies are two tabbies - one orange and one gray.

Great capture in natural surroundings. I love the unusual colour through the glass, it makes for a perfect backdrop for your beautiful kitty. Just wonderful!
