Rainbow Falls in Sun

tom grubbe

These falls are always a tricky exposure especially when shooting velvia. I wanted to wait until a cloud came by to soften the light but this actually turned out ok.

Thanks Mario, I scan my 6x7 slides with an old[ish] Minolta Dimage Scan Multi. I think the input DPI is a mere 1128, output at 300 DPI for a 2500x3000 image. That's a little more resolution than I get with my 6MP Canon 10D.

Marvellous! Fantastic composition, very beautiful landscape. All the colours fit and harmonize as well. Very good! 7/6

Tom, this is a beautiful and powerful image. Since you asked for critique though - the only two nits that I see are the uneven polarization and the "empty" area in the bottom right. Not sure what could be done about that though. Great job.

no any comments, just stuned by your photo. however, I want to know how can you keep all detail from the near side to tele side so clear, and the whole photo is so sharp and transparent. oh, how do you control the exposure, I mean you achieved the foggy effect waterfall by long time exposure , and at the same time you ensured the others right exposure. sorry for my poor english. I hope you can understand me, and wait for your answer. Thank you.
