S21 Prison (Cambodia) is now a powerful reminder of the atrocities

carried out by the Khmer Rouge in the late 1970's. The prison was a

detention and torture centre.

The photograph on the back wall in this image depicts the scene

found by the first non-Khmer people to enter the prison following

the liberation of Cambodia. It shows the corpse of a young man

shackled to the bed (foreground) having been tortured to his death.
