davidbridge 0 Posted October 9, 2006 You must view this larger to get the full effect. Being a panorama the original image is 3x8mp's stuck together so too big for photo.net @ 7megs but the larger version here is 1280 wide so you'll get the idea.. I wanted the sky darker and did not want to mess with PS so used a hoya polariser. TOP TIP if you want to do panoramas - Don't use a polariser, as like with wide angles lenses, they only work at 90 degrees to the light source so for a side on sun shot like this the sky is burnt out to the right and dark o nthe left. I could change this in PS but that would be missing the point. I screwed up but its still a nice shot. What do you think? Taken with 18mm lens at F13 with a rather odd, you may think, 1/13th sec due to the polariser cuttign the light. The F13 gives a wide DOF and with the polariser the speed was so slow a sturdy tripod was required. Metering was done on the dark central tree / bush area. The lake is private land but I did not trespass to get the shot. Its taken fro mthe road. I wish i were rich enough to own land like this. Dave Link to comment
chad_robinson 0 Posted October 9, 2006 You're right, it does look better veiwed larger. I can see a very nice transition from the cooler months of the year on the left hand side to a warmer change in the seasons on the right side, weather this was your intention ( excuse the pun ) I don't know, but thats what I see. A very nice balanced and visually pleasing image. C.R. Link to comment
