nsfbr 0 Posted October 9, 2006 This is the same photo as in http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=5047521 but with some lightening done. I use a Mac, and while I'm confident my monitor is properly adjusted, photo.net deletes the profile on images that are uploaded. That makes color management a crap shoot. In any case, I'm really interested in people's thoughts - on this one, on this one versus the other, whatever. And I have to say I was a bit perplexed by the ratings on the other. If you happen to know of a better picture of this unique place, I'd like to have a link. Or perhaps a better way to put it is, if you rate this piece as average or below, please consider explaining why - since the idea is to provide feedback and useful critique. Thanks. Link to comment
gungajim 75 Posted October 9, 2006 Good one. You've captured the essence of the setting around the temple. You might consider a version with a more panoramic crop and elimination of the little trickle of leaves in the upper left center. Link to comment
gungajim 75 Posted October 9, 2006 Crop idea attached. Your enhancements to your second version are definitely an improvement over your original post. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 11, 2007 cropping is such a personal thing but I'd leave this sumptuous photo just as it is. you've captured depth in the water and a richness of color, especially in the yellow structure, that is beautiful to look at. the reeds in the foreground, for me, add perspective, depth and interest to the whole scene, also giving it a sense of reality and naturalness. getting rid of those seems to sanitize a bit of the reality of this photo away. hagar 7,462 Posted January 20, 2009 I like this version much better.. even tho I think it could still be lightened a tad more.. As an aside.. you must have taken more photos in Japan? Good to see another Armenian on Photo.net! Cheers, Haig Link to comment
