I like my repeating patterns to either have very obvious depth of field falloff for effect, or be completely in focus via large depth of field. The bottom of the picture can be cropped out to restore the effect, but if you like it, that's really all that matters. Link to comment

To me, it just becomes unrecognizable in the larger view when inverted, but is still easily recognizable in the thumbnail. Thanks for the feedback. I'm not sure how much I can limit depth of field here, but that is a good observation. I used a 200mm f/4 lens, probably at f/8 or so. Shooting wide open might or might not blur up the near or far edges- I'd have to try it and see. Link to comment
