colin carron 58,916 Posted October 5, 2006 I suppose this could be classed as a 'Vehicle' but it isn't going anywhere at the moment. All comments welcome! Link to comment
jmcconnell2 0 Posted October 5, 2006 This is a beautiful shot, but I think I like the uncropped one better. Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted October 5, 2006 well, yes, a vehicle it is:-) I really like this close up with the boat that seems to be coming out of the frame toward us. Great texture in the ol' boat. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted October 5, 2006 Thanks Jim. I took a number of shots of the old boat and thought this one looked interesting. Thanks Paula. Definitely used to be a vehicle anyway! Link to comment
j.k._york 0 Posted October 5, 2006 i love shots of beached boats. great detail and the effect of the anchor rope as plum line is wonderful. at first i thought the background boats should go, but then i think of them as part of the story and they work. regards, J.K. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted October 5, 2006 Thanks JK. They are interesting aren't thay? It was the detail as much as anything that I was after here. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted October 5, 2006 Fantastic details, exciting close-up of this boat. Your crop makes a nice diagonal, and that rope from the LL corner is a nice extra. Link to comment
alexandra rauh 0 Posted October 6, 2006 Colin, original how you bring it close.Fascinating how here the boat, gets all the attention without wondering around .the details .robes and colors very good expression. If i had the choice,i don't know wich one i would choose to hang on the wall. pnital 36 Posted October 6, 2006 Colin, if it was mine, I would have added it to the previous one thread as a closer look of the same scene. For me it needs a bit more "breathing space"....I do love the boat with its dangling ropes. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted October 6, 2006 Thanks Carsten, Alix and Pnina. Glad you liked the detail which was what I was attracted to. Pnina, I remember you have some nice 'old boat' shots too :-). I thought the detail and 'in your face' feel to this made it interesting enough to stand on its own. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted October 6, 2006 I like less this one. Even if it means approach the boat in order to see the details, I would have took a very closer shot, like this for example. What do you think ? Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted October 6, 2006 Henri, good idea! That really is 'in your face'. I'll try that one when I see my next wreck. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted October 6, 2006 Ah, yes! that is the one. I remember it. At the location I shot thie photo above there were other boats there but too far away to include in these shots. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted October 8, 2006 I like the tightness of the shot. It's different and appealing to me. I also like what Henry did with the even tighter crop, but the original posting is very good, imo. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted October 9, 2006 The sky is great - you do well with skies that I tend to find challenging. I like the boat ... but it's a little too close/tight for my taste ... I think the other shot is more to my liking. Link to comment
alberto.conde 0 Posted October 9, 2006 The wide angle lens put to fantastic use, Colin. It pays to dare getting that close. Beautiful light, as well. I just love it. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 11, 2006 Beautiful composition. I like it a lot. Congrats ! Link to comment
baldurbirgis 0 Posted October 15, 2006 Colin, I think the thight framing good enough as another image of the same subject. Very Nice capture of feeling Blue. Link to comment
sheryl_w__blue_mt._ 0 Posted October 15, 2006 I love the composition, textures, color and I like it from any angle, but my favorite would be this shot.... Link to comment
photos of hans koot 0 Posted October 29, 2006 Good shot Colin! nobody suggested a B&W yet? Link to comment
dens 4 Posted October 29, 2006 Colin, Nice shot but not as good as some of your classics. there is something about this view that draws me to it, I have posted a couple in the past. But the photo just never has IT.....not sure why. I like it, good subject, like the flaky paint but something is missing..... Link to comment
thinhnguyen 0 Posted November 3, 2006 Beautiful viewpoint. Strong diagonal composition give more...power to this image. Regards. Link to comment
