tylerwind 0 Posted October 5, 2006 This was a quick snapshot I saw while shooting pictures of shrimp boats and I thought it turned out pretty well. Any comments or thoughts are appreciated! Link to comment
lesa jones 0 Posted October 5, 2006 It did turn out great for a quick snapshot!! Good eye Tyler! May want to crop more off of each side, or just one side, in order to make it less "formal". Congrats on a wonderful shot...LJ Link to comment
tylerwind 0 Posted October 5, 2006 Thanks for the input. Yes, I guess it is pretty much centered, which looks good to me in some pictures but I have learned is the unforgiveable sin in photography. :) Had I really put some thought into it I would have turned the camera sideways and gotten more of the piling as well. I'll go back and get more--there are pelicans everywhere you look around here! But, I'm not sure I will get that same great blue sky. I thought that blue sky was a great backdrop and complement to the pelican, which is why I didn't crop it out. Thanks for the comment--keep'em comin'! Link to comment
jmcconnell2 0 Posted December 27, 2006 Hi tyler, I saw your note about this coming right out of the camera, I think it could be improved with a light dose of UnsharpMask, or SmartSharpen in PhotoShop CS2, or Elements 5. IMO, Elements 5 does most things as well as CS2. I agree the subject is too near "death center", gives the composition a stiff feel. Go shoot some more Pelicans! I just got a Canon Dreb XTI for Xmas with a 70-200mm f4L Lens, NOTHING is safe! Happy New Year to you and yours, -Jim. Link to comment
