aepelbacher 0 Posted October 4, 2006 It was fun watching this guy getting his face painted at the Mystic Art Festival in Mystic, Connecticut. Interestingly enough, we watched him get this Boston Red Sox emblem painted on one cheek, and then a New York Yankees emblem painted on the other cheek. I thought that was VERY strange, because I always believed that being a fan of the either team was a mutually exclusive kind of thing. But then, at the last minute, the face painter put a big red circle around the Yankees emblem and drew a big red line through it. :-) Photographically, I like the color in his bandana, the missing tooth, the gleeful look on his face, and most of all the sentiment on his shirt (appropriate?). I had to desaturate some parts of the background (the feathery looking belt in the pair of pants on the left was pink), but other than a small bit of cropping, didn't do much else to this. Thoughts? kslonaker 0 Posted October 7, 2006 I like the second shot better if you cropped the right side a bit more. The girl's shirt makes it very funny! Great character to photograph, Lou Ann. Link to comment

susan stone 0 Posted October 11, 2006 The tag on the shirt that says Bad Religion is cause for pause, what's the message he's trying to convey?! I like, of course, all the red accents in his adornment, but he doesn't have a "bad guy" look to him that his "do rag" would imply. Interesting portrait.....are we what we appear to be?! aepelbacher 0 Posted October 12, 2006 Interesting, Susan. I actually do think that he has a "bad boy" look to him ... that rough around the edges thing. And ... I was more amused by the "Bad Religion" patch because of the Boston Red Sox emblem on his cheek ... as if the Sox obsession IS the "Bad Religion"....... It's interesting how we each see images just a little bit differently...... Link to comment
