maria 7 Posted October 4, 2006 There are some layers in the wall, and some layers in the succession of private - public spaces in this image and in the spatial disposition it represents. I've even read a doctoral dissertation about the principle of stratification, both material and spatial stratification. The wall itself stratifies rendered and not-rendered parts, in both elevation and vertical section, while in elevation there is the difference between burned clay brick foundation and loam (adobe) upper part. The internal space of the courtyard is green, while the wall separates from the space of the street, in which green is found on the other side of the pedestrian way also.
