Como has encuadrado ee arbolito con el resto de la imagen es bellisimo. Esa es la imagen. Una luz resplendente captada perfectamente.

Esta genial, el minimalismo en paisaje, creo que le quitaria ese algo que esta en el lado izquierdo, que no se sabe que es y dejaria unicamente el arbol.

The way you framed the image is unique, the sun rays look like an hand fan (abanico).

The rays of sun make the shot for me, perfect composition with eccentric vanishing point. Clouds were cooperative, too. Horizon in thirds is a classic, however it looks as if extreme dynamic range goes beyond the scope of film here. Thus, shadow detail in the field is not optimal. A grad ND in-camera or a double scan with composite in PS (to dig out hidden shadow details) would be worth a try, IMO, because the lines in the field contribute significantly to the radial composiiton here.

Very beautiful sunset here too, above all with the sun rays which radiate all the sky. I like the place of the solitary tree.

And coming to Carsten's comment, it's true that Velvia couldn't cope here with the extreme dinamic range.

When I took this shot I was driving back home after one of my many extended photo-safari of castles. My route was westward. That sunset and that sky were in front of me. I was looking for a point of interest and for a suitable place to stop safely my car. When I found the place (they do not always show up and opportunity is lost) the sun was rapidly dissapearing. No time to fit in the ND filter. I used the polarizer that are always screwed into my lenses.

I took several photos and have to confess that it didn't come into my mind the alternative of bracketing to stitch them together later. Perhaps I should think of it as of now...

Alberto, thanks for the background info. Many people think of landscape as a slow and comfortable process, but sometimes it is really a matter of minutes and seconds...

Alberto, for me, what I like in this one is the diagonals of rays in the sky and their parallels on earth, and the little upright tree "ballancing" it...so we have diagonals,horizontals and vertical, with soft light on the left screening to the darker right all in harmony. The small tree is doing it for me.

Es una magnifica imagen. El horizonte esta en su punto (ni muy abajo ni muy en medio) Solo esa pequenya observacion de Pepa, de recortar poquitito de la izquierda, para aislar ese arbol. Creo que ganaria mas de lo que ya demuestra.

 

As Carsten said, the continuity between the rays and the plough pattern in the land, shaping a fan make the main structure of the shot, being the small tree in the horizon the main subject for which this fan is working. So I do not see how could you cut the left side to avoid the annoying presence of that small group of trees which are just on the source of the sunset rays.

This annoying presence is perfectly forgeteable since I do not see it spoil the image.

Alberto,esta imagen la veo muy bien dadas las condiciones no precisamente ideales,debido a tu angulo respecto al encuadre,no podias haber cortado el elemento...que comenta Pepa,ya que hubieses eliminado una fraccion de esa zona de luz tan importante,sin la cual la imagen moriria...

A mi me parece fantastica, creo que has sacado un buen partido a la luz, las zonas mas umbrias mantienen detalle y dan fuerza a la compo. las diagonales de cielo y tierra muy chulas, conducen al arbolito y a la bonita luz....mi unico pero para esa cosa bajo el sol, distrae un pelo. Un precioso atardecer, cielo rotundo sobre el unico habitante de la tierra.

De acuerdo con Pepa en eliminar el alien que se ha colado por la izquierda.

En esta prefiero el cielo, pues tiene un amplio abanico de tonalidades y las nubes no son tan importantes con lo cual es mas complicado conseguir esos colores.

I shall abide by the majority's opinion and crop off that small cluster of trees on the left side. The new version has been uploaded, once I have checked that the crop, respecting the frame's size, does not affect seriously to the sunrays expanding effect.

Alberto, interesting sory about how this shot happened. I have had the same experience when a beautiful light appears but one is not able to stop and take the photo. I like this composition with the lone tree - did not see the original. A well taken opportunity.

?Qué ¬uz tan magní¦©ca! No he visto la versi�n anterior, que comentas que recortaste, pero desde luego ha quedado preciosa. Una composici�n equilibrada, sin elementos que despisten y unos colores muy ví¶©dos. Enhorabuena!

Que suerte la del arbol y la tuya de disfrutar de ese espectaculo en esa inmensa pero calida soledad que transmite la imagen. Es preciosa. Por cierto gracias comentar lo del foro pero de momento con participar en este tengo bastante para ir aprendiendo. Saludos: Gema.
