mrhaydon 0 Posted October 1, 2006 Taken lower down (in) the river, with the old Youth Hostel, top left. The approach to the 'Old man', in the lake district. Thanks for viewing, please see larger. Link to comment
wood 1 Posted October 2, 2006 Another very well composed image with interest in the foreground and in the distance. My only complaint is I think the sky is overdone. I preferred the more subdued sky in one of your previous posts. Just my personal preference. Link to comment

lucyhollis 2 Posted October 2, 2006 Even if the sky is a little overdone, it makes a very dramatic photo! As well as the exposure, the low perspective really draws my eyes in. My only nitpick (I know this photo really doesn't deserve one!) is tha the river meanders over to the right, which is where my eye goes, and not over to the house which is naturally what I find is the focus of the photo. Maybe if it wasn't so bright white it wouldn't grab my attention so much. Or if the river does run towards the house could you dodge it some more to pick out the highlights? BTW, is this the Old Man of Conistan? Link to comment
mrhaydon 0 Posted October 2, 2006 Thanks for your comments Lucy, and all. This white house is a remote Youth Hostel which seems to be the begining of the long walk to the old man of Coniston, I've never done this walk, but it is very popular and takes you past the waterfall and then on and on, and on. I will post a picture of the youth hostel, it is a wonderful place. I did see Golum afar off, I'm sure he's still alive the little pest. Link to comment
