I really like these old buildings. Amazing that they haven't been vandalized or otherwise destroyed. In yours, I was thinking there might be a bit too much space on the left. Here's a redo with a crop, a little increase in contrast, and sharpening. Great subject.

Thanks sincerely for taking the time to look and critique this. But this was a home on a working farm. It needs space, and I wish I could have given it more.

You know, more space would be good as well. Might make it look even "lonesomer." I've spent some time photographing these beauties abandoned in the upper midwest. Maybe the new porch should have clued me in that it was inhabited. Cheers, Steve

Great subject, i appreciate you presented it simply, without loads of post treatment. I prefer the original crop. I'd just clone the wires in background out (of course they are not really out of place, but i can't help cloning wires out !).

She's a beaut. (I mean the house.) Photo is not bad either. I know you do this too, but don't you just stand there and think of all the things those walls have seen? The whole gamut of human behavoir. Everything from conception, birth to death. All the emotion that is contained therein. In my mind I can conjure up so much, I wonder why the walls don't just explode as I sit here staring at it. Thanks for giving me the image and transporting me to this reverie.

Thanks! I don't do much manipulation. In part, I don't know how. But also it just isn't my approach to photography. I think a scene has beauty or meaning, or it doesn't. I just want to capture it, but hopefully do it well.

I prefer the original photo. I feel the suggestion is too light in contrast. The original has more atmosphere and it is how the photographer sees it. I have never been able to pass many houses in my years of travel without pondering places such as these. vallery
