... on the Dordogne, as you say, home to one of France's great villains, Simon de Montfort. He was the "executer" of the Albignesian crusade and cruel beyond belief. It was his fate to die from a stone thrown from a siege engine operated by women in Toulouse. Great place, though, great vista.

Dennis, as so often is the case, places which now look peaceful & quiet have a history that's full of agression & cruelty. Mankind has never been a collection of sweet choir boys & girls. Thanks very much for your comment. Cheers, Sam.
