So well placed in the frame with wonderful colours.

I love the color and composition. The offset stem, the stair stepping leaves both combine to give this photo movement.

This was taken on a recent trip to Maine where I hiked on the Appalachian Trail. The colors are just beginning to peak.

After my recent trip to Maine, and my OWN hike on the Appalachian Trail (very small part of course), I came here to see if YOU had been recently. And I see you have. Did you get many photos? And WHY aren't you here on PN much anymore. I miss that so many are leaving.

Heather, we hiked up Speck Mountain right near where your shots were taken of the falls in Grafton Notch State park. It was a "physical challenge" I have been planning for a year now. It took 8hrs of INTENSE hiking and nearly killed me, but I did it!!! I will have more shots to post soon. Life has been busy and I have been dealing with a lot of "stuff" so haven't posted as much as I used to. Still taking lots of photos though! I see you have shots posted of Greenwood area and some of your lake photos look as if they could have been taken in the Bethel area (where I am from!) why not drop me an e-mail and we can chat about Maine in depth. Are you from there too? I just bought the 30D and a great new lens so I am going wild with shooting. Enjoyed my vacation in ME ... but back to reality now. Thanks for asking and for your comments on my photo... much appreciated!
