cmars 0 Posted July 27, 2008 Nice panning here. But no really, this is ridiculous! Charlie p.s.How have things been in London?.. I lived with two Irish girls this summer. They seemed like good people, and full of wit. But they didn't think much of the British! Link to comment
hugh_hill 0 Posted July 31, 2008 Well my family are almost all Celts, mothers side all Irish my fathers side Scots & Irish, we tend see people as people, good & bad but tend to look for the good in what we see, we know our history and the wrongs done to us but rather to continue a vicious circle of 'tit for tat' learned to get on with it and overcome past errs. I have many Irish friends besides family who feel the same but agree that there are some who see the British in a light that many now regard Americans. I have always stood my ground in my beliefs that it is not the individual or collective but rather the system that is supposed to guide us who are responsible. Maybe this might help to explain my take on it a little. "We, existing in a world where prophets still dictate for profit, Where rich rob from the poor & weak, Denied the right of protest or in many cases to even speak, Where media monsters dictate to their willing slaves And in turn use the bodies of our innocent braves- Brick by brick To build their walls of lies, while it bars the right of truth. Proof that hope has been abandoned, ransomed- like a dangling carrot Taunting it before our eyes leading us on until we can go on no more and fall. And yet still they whip us blow by blow, with lies, half truths & alibis." HH 08 Regards Hugh, never judge books by covers eh! Link to comment
