cherlyn 1 Posted September 28, 2006 I like this in B/W. So good to see that there are still children who can enjoy the simplest things in life. Well chosen crop to emphasize on what she is doing. Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted September 28, 2006 I prefer the B&W, Amal. Great capture, so sweet little girl. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted September 28, 2006 An interesting comparison (the two shots) which illustrates the difference in approach between the photo-journalist and the photo/artist. The color version is a lovely and flavorful record of a child at a particular place and time. The cropped, b&w version, takes the child out of time and universalizes her, creating an image that strikes a resonant chord in our psyche, the dwelling place of art. While the color version paints a charming picture and is certainly most appealing, the b&w image projects compositional strength and the sure-handed confidence of the mature artist. Link to comment
