why the horrible ratings and no comments? PN is letting you down....this is a very clever composition, it works extremely well graphically and the saturated colours are effective. the red streaks in the centre are an interesting feature and all in all it's a satisfying image. best wishes, hugo

Thank you very much Hugo. Very kind of you to take the time. I am currently trying my hardest to improve 'movement' images and am really glad you think this is sucessful. As for the ratings.......After a month at PN I've had to learn not to take ratings to heart! Thankfully, comments from other members are generally quite constructive and positive.

glad you're not too bothered about the ratings! i think this is by far the best of your london tube images because the lighting picks out the moving tube train so well. in the other images the light is much brighter and there's not so much contrast with the white roof.

 

I also like here how the streaks of light on the train sort of match the white and yellow lines, that balance is lacking on the other images. you might like to check out remy bourganel's portfolio on PN [http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=624262], he's got some pretty nice long exposure shots of roads in wandsworth common!

Claire you've got some great pictures here. I wish I'd taken more time to photograph the underground while I was in London. I will definately have to do that next time. I love the speed of this train, and it's almost bizarre that the yellow line is so clear at the edge of the platform.

 

Mind the gap!
