Very nice shot. The only thing about it is how dark the mountain to the right came out in the picture. I have worked with Velvia 50 quite a bit and have had the same problem. Velvia 50 is a great film, but does not always reproduce shaded areas to my liking, it tends to black out shaded areas when working with these conditions.

Amazing sky ... and it's amazing what you, Baldur, can do putting the subject in the dead center of the image (breaking all the rules) and it's still a gorgeous shot! Wonderful!!

Tom L and Lou Ann, many thanks for your feedback. About the dark mountain to the right and the main subject in the dead center. It is my opinion that these elements works nicely together with others in the composition. Pay attention to the circle around the church which is slightly to the left against the dark mountain. The different formation of the clouds follows the landscape. The division of the formation is off centered and helps the centered placement of the church to work. Usually the clouds change very quicly like they did in this case. This was my way of the composition at that moment. It is good to know the rules. It is even better not to be stuck in them. Many Thanks again for your kind words. All comments and ratings are welcome. Best regards, Baldur

The earth circle and mountain make te composition work well and centering the church makes it look small in the landscape. It feels deserted.

Julio and Colin, many thanks for your feedback. To Colin: About the feeling of deserted. It seems that my message came through with the composition :-)

It is a very good picture but, as you know, 6/6 is all I can do for two weeks. Thanks for you interest in my work and your ratings.
