Hi Kenneth,

 

This is not a Monarch (Danaus plexippus) but a Viceroy (Limenitis archippus). The Viceroy "mimic" the coloration and habits of the Monarch. Predators don't eat the Monarch because it is toxic so they don't eat the Viceroy even if it is not toxic.
