will king 0 Posted September 20, 2006 Looks like something out of Lord of The Rings. As always, superb Michael. Link to comment
sawicki 0 Posted September 20, 2006 I also thaught of Lord of the Rings. No offence. It was a beautifuly pictured movie. The sky is dramatic, birds fly at the ligthest part, lovely tones of green and violet and the tower stading far away but very clear to the eye. Poerwful and grea photo. Link to comment
mrhaydon 0 Posted September 20, 2006 Thanks gentlemen, Lord of the rings is a powerful movie, I think there are similarities with various tones that I use in some of my photos. This is the high point of Gummers How in the Lake District. I lost Golum on the descent. Link to comment

henrimanguy 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Very beautiful composition. I just see above the name of "Wuthering heights" and I think that it is a perfect title for it. Link to comment
terry foster 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Nice Photoshop work Michael, like the highlighted area that leads you to the Tower. were the birds in the original sky? Terry :-) Link to comment
mrhaydon 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Thanks all for your comments and references. The birds have flown in from Northumberland via PS. You will find them in various landscape photos in my Portfolio. Link to comment

bigginger 0 Posted March 8, 2007 Another great shot from the Haydon stable (including the well travelled birds). I still haven't worked out how you achieve the distinctive look. I can see you have desaturated the sky and that you have selectively dodged and burned but there is also something else I am sure it is to do with blending layers and sharpening...... Link to comment
