- A Winter Scenery -

I agree... The quality is not very good, but in this image doesn't have importance. The picture is well composed and I like the very beautiful atmosphere

I was browsing through my pictures and I found this one and though

the quality of the picture isn't very good (rather very bad) I like

the composition. I took this shot for almost 2 years ago with my

first and simple camera. I appreciate to hear your thoughts, Ada.

I remember the series, I think it was really inspired. good shot here as well. Maybe make a B&w of it?

Dear Ada, I will again have a discordant voice : I find the composition a bit disappoiting because of two things. First, the uniformly greyish sky makes a too large empty space, and secondly I would like to see more of the river, which is scarcely visible behind the grasses. Probably, if you could have climb on a little mound, you could have done better. Unfortunately, you don't always have a mound at hand. Do you think it is possible to buy a pliable mound and put it in the bag ? :) Otherwise, I like the misty atmosphere of this winter day.

Hans, thank you for your kind words. May I ask you why you suggest to do it in B&W? Do you think it would look better? I fear the shot will lost it's softness. But I will do an attempt. BTW, have you finished your floor yet? I hope so;-)

Dear Henri, thank you for your extensive comment. To reply your first remark, the sky; what would you suggest me to do to get rid of that empty part of grey sky?

 

1. Cropp the shot but that means that I will loose just that part of the stream which is pretty visible.

 

2. Add some birds?

 

3. Add some clouds?

 

4. Put a large Christmastree at the other side of the stream?

 

I think that not one of the points above will make the composition look better. Me personal, I I think an addition or a cropp will disturb the balance in the composition.

 

To reply your second point; I'm pretty on the short side for Northern European standards and many times my lenght is against me when it comes to amongst others taken a good picture. (Why do you think all my high buildings looks as if they tumble backwards?;-)

And because I don't like to drag around with a stepladder such a pliable mound you talk about, would be a fantastic solution for my problem. I think there will be a large market for it. Why don't you apply for a patent ;-)))

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ik vind hem prachtig Ada!!!!! Heb er een heel comfortabel gevoel bij..... Ziet er helemaal uit zoals op de Veluwe, hihi.... Voor mij is dit ook niet per defenitie een winterlandschap. Ik ben dol op dit soort 'verbleekte kleurenpartijen' en dat kan ook net zo goed in de lente zijn. Vind hem mede daardoor erg geslaagd!!! Prachtige compo met de bomen aan de linkerkant.... Vind hem dus gewoon TOP, hahahaha. Soms krijg je met een klik-klak-camera van die resultaten waar je met je DSLR in allerlei bochten moet wringen om zoiets eruit te persen... :-)

Ha Bianca! Ik had al een beetje verwacht dat jij hem mooi zou vinden. Ik moet je ook bekennen dat ik aan jou moest denken toen ik deze foto weer terug zag in mijn archiefje. Het is dan wel niet de Veluwe maar gelukkig hebben we hier in de buurt ook hele mooie natuurgebieden. Wat je zegt is waar. Zo'n geheel automatisch cameraatje wordt vaak onderschat. Ik was er in het begin helemaal lyrisch over. Nooit eerder foto's gemaakt en dan meteen zulke mooie plaatjes schieten maar ja toen ik hier een tijdje op PN bezig was kwamen mensen met allerlei goedbedoelde suggesties als grotere lens nemen bij het maken van een portretfoto, filters gebruiken voor mooiere landschapsopnamen. Tja... dat kon dus allemaal niet op dat cameraatje van mij en toen ben ik overstag gegaan. Maar ja, als je nooit gefotografeerd hebt dan weet je ook niets van belichting en sluitertijd en noem de hele rimram maar op. En ik ben niet zo'n held in dat soort dingen. Dus als ik eerlijk ben, en dat staat ook in mijn biografie, verlang ik nog heel vaak terug naar dat simpele 'klik-klak' ding zoals jij het zo leuk noemt. Maar ik heb hem niet meer. Mijn dochter en kleindochter maken er nu leuke foto's mee en ik werk me intussen uit de naad om toch maar vooral toonbare foto's te maken. Ik heb nu trouwens een IR filter besteld. Verwacht hem binnen enkele dagen in huis te hebben. Kan ik op de camera van mijn man gebruiken. Hij heeft de Sony DSC 707 en die serie schijnt bij uitstek geschikt te zijn voor het maken van IR foto's. Ik vind niet altijd alles in IR mooi maar sommige plaatjes die ik gezien heb vind ik om van te dromen. Wil dat zelf ook wel eens uitproberen. Dus toe maar jongens....

Het kost me allemaal nogal niet wat. Maar daar staat weer tegenover dat je met een digitale camera maar raak kunt schieten en daarmee poets ik mijn 'schuldgevoelens' over de hoogte van de aanschafprijzen van camera's en alles wat er bij komt kijken maar weer een beetje weg.

Nou het is weer een lang verhaal geworden maar het gaat ook zo lekker makkelijk in het Nederlands.

 

Ik ben heel blij dat jij met jouw capaciteiten dit in elk geval een mooie foto vindt. Dat zegt me heel wat!

Hahaha, weet helemaal wat je bedoelt..... Ik voel me ook altijd schuldig.. Heb een paar maanden geleden de Canon 5D gekocht, nou das een heel proces hoor, hahaha. Ik ben helemaal niet verkwistend opgevoed, maar toen ik het mijn moeder vertelde lagen we echt in een deuk. Ach, tis mijn allergrootste hobby, maar jij hebt er nog een veelvoud aan tijdsbestedingen bij, grinn.. Tis alleen zo jammer als je zo'n grote uitgave doet, het na een jaar alweer verouderd is zeg maar.... pffff.......

 

Had een tijdje geleden ook onwijs veel interesse in een IR filter, maar op de 300D ging dat niet lukken. Ik ben heel benieuwd wat voor resultaten je eruit perst, heerlijk he die experimentjes? Heb laatst een 'lensbaby' gekocht... vanuit Amerika besteld. Geweldig ding! Zie mijn laatste foto, hihi...

En zo spelen we en besteden we wat af, hahaha, leve de economie!!!!!!
