emjordan 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Real cool that you got the dragon fly in this shot too! Added Bonus for you Dan! elisabeth perhaps cropping on the sides just a touch might add to the vertical length of the bird? Link to comment
dangoldman 0 Posted September 21, 2006 yeah, that dragon fly caught me off guard when i reviewing the pics that night... cropping on the sides would probably be the thing to do. Lately i have been going for standard crops (2:3 3:2) but i think you are right with suggesting i take some of the sides off. This picture always did seema little awkward, so that may help a little. chrisallsebrook 0 Posted September 26, 2006 Thanks for your comments on my Post Dan, The Equipment I used was a 1DS2 and a 300mm 2.8Lis. There does not seem much wrong with your shots but I do agree that cropping would improve things and perhaps increase te Contrast for a bit more Bite. My shot was taken Mid day with bright sunshine but the Heron was shaded, there was still plenty of light around to give the back lighting. On your comment about cropping ratio's my advice would be throw the rule book away and do what you think looks best. I think that too many people worry about 'How it should be done' Take your photos with your Heart not your Head. Keep on trying your not far off. Best regards Chris Link to comment
dangoldman 0 Posted September 26, 2006 thank you very much for your comment, Chris. I will definetly try your suggestions as well as find a bird in similar conditions to what you have just listed. Dan Link to comment
