I am drawn to this image for a number of reasons:

-The composition is tight and intimate.

-The light and detail is superb.

-The color gradient from warm to cool and color variations throughout.

-The eye is just faintly visible, not artificially brightened (at least not to the degree I am used to seeing).

-The overall dimness of the image--had it been brightened up to the typical 'correct' exposure its impact would not be so great.

-Because it's just a damn great image for no particular reason I can explain.
