Really brilliant concept. Fine use of texture and great positioning of the various elements. I find some of the burnt-out highlights to be a bit distracting.

One of the coolest sand sculptures I've seen lately - hands are so hard to do in that medium. I also like the face in the background... another little detail in the photo which gives it an even stranger air. I'm not sure if I like the crop though -- I might have gotten a bit lower, and put some more space around the hands/arms. They're very close to the edges of the frame, which makes me think more that they want out than that they're greedy :) Nice contrast/tones.

I like the face in the background. It fits in perfectly.
