robin frampton 0 Posted September 14, 2006 Wow - love the hue and soft contrast. Only one small niggle that the right hand ice block is a little close to the edge of the frame for my liking. I could be wrong but it looks like there are many specks of dust on your sensor. Superb none the less! Link to comment
pepmir 0 Posted September 14, 2006 Yes I feel a very quiet ambient. Good work. Best regards. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 15, 2006 Hi Jana, very calm and seems peaceful too. I would prefer a horizontal composition with your subjects closer and also giving some more space to the right piece. Hope you don't mind me cropping the top and bottom and also added some space to the right. Link to comment
sawicki 0 Posted September 15, 2006 Calmness and silence. Lovely tones of blue and grey. The flat water is amazing here. Good photo. Link to comment
jana 1 Posted September 15, 2006 Thai - thanks , your image is lovely too, precise according to the composition rules. I was thinking about the composition a lot. At the end I let the image exactly as taken, because it shows the CALM more IMO. It is an emotinal thing. It is smooth and without disturbance in water and sky. everybody- thanks for commenting. cheers Jana Link to comment

jefvandenhoute 0 Posted September 15, 2006 Beautifull poetic image. One suggestion: cutting somewhat at the bottom of the image would in my opinion make the composition even stronger Link to comment
jana 1 Posted September 15, 2006 Jeff, thanks for your thoughts. I already gave answer to this in previous comment on this page. cheers Jana Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted September 15, 2006 uuups! Another gem. The tonality is mesmerising, a great composition. With respect to this point I do prefer your original framing because it creates a strange melancholic mood, inviting us to observe in front of the infinite gray-bluish sky and sea. The horizontal version looks nice too, but the lack of the bottom and top becomes in a normal beautiful landscape. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted September 16, 2006 Nice and sober composition which work perfectly with this cold and smooth land. If I were the photographer I would have take it horizontaly, and it would have been a mystake. Link to comment
teresa.zafon 0 Posted February 4, 2007 This is also great Jana. A really calm atmosphere. Link to comment
alberto.conde 0 Posted February 4, 2007 You broke very well that stupid rule that imposes that lansacapes should be horizontal. Why?The image is calm and serene. Link to comment
anthonymc 0 Posted February 13, 2007 Hello Jana, I like the comp here with elements in the foreground leading to depth and detail. The exposure gives us a wonderful mood here. Congrats....Anthony Link to comment
bretsch 0 Posted February 15, 2007 I see you like O'Keeffe?s paintings, this picture of yours reminded me very much of one of her paintings. What a wonderful joy it is to see your work; thank you for sharing it with us. Link to comment
