jimg 0 Posted September 14, 2006 There are two elements of this image that are competing against each other in my mind. Ultimately I am really liking this image, but= I have to share the one thing that bothers me. The lighting and reflection are amazing. I really like it, but the large shadow from the trees creates a competing void. I think I would look past this if there wasn't a fallen tree leading my eye into the void versus the great reflection of El Capitan. Perhaps this could have been strengthened with an alternate composition. Link to comment
franksam 0 Posted September 14, 2006 I agree with Jim. I like this picture because of the light and the colours. Link to comment
labuenaluz 0 Posted September 14, 2006 I also do agree with Jim, alltough I can see there was no other way to include the subject tree on perspective, if just the angle would have been the opposite, the illuminated Cap would have interacted directly with it, but nature (hopefully) is the only one that dictamins this. On a second look, I can observe the chosen angle of trunk working with the obscure reflection adding great contrast and volume to the incoming composition and view before going to the left admiring the wonderfully enlighted Nose, just a really minor nitpick on the cutted reflection of the tallest tree, nothing relevant excellent work. * Vaya viajecito mas guapo, que envidiaa 8^) Link to comment
