i see u were not doing your job, as a line judge u should be focussing on the line-call and not the coming ball(: GREAT angle , were u realy judging the line???

I was a temporarily credentialed photographer: see the story elsewhere.

I shot this one from ground level in what is called "the hole." There is also one behind Roddick to the left of the photo. It's a window from which a TV cameraman sits and there is another window assigned to photographers for the event.

Every once in a while a ball would bounce in at high speed. One did hit me squarely in the lens. The glass survived. The ball boys took the ball back.

Having had the time and opportunity to think your photo and to compose it in advance, its composition is far from being good. The US Open sign behind Roodick is enough. Having the public into the frame is unnecesary and confusing. It would have been better to include some of Federer's court as well as some of the central line diagonal. A failed attempt, IMHO.

I dont believe a line judge is in this position, it seems like you are pushing your equipment to far. You should focus on what you can do with your equipment.

You had a photo pass at the US Open...and this is the only photo you have?
