hansendj 0 Posted September 17, 2006 Nice catch! The front white area is maybe a little overexposed...but I wonder if that was actually due to adding too much contrast. The rest of the photo looks great the way it is, but that bright white area is really catching my eye. I guess I need to applaud you on a shot I've yet to come close to despite my attempts...you're obviously faster than I am! Nicely done... Link to comment
dangoldman 0 Posted September 17, 2006 well, if i was truly fast i would have seen that the exposure bug was blinking off the scale when i took the shot, never even had the chance to look at it. He saw me and took off a few paces. When it came into the computer it was very white... the deer was barely visible. I liked the timing so much that i decided to save it. One tip for getting these shots which i figured out the next day (when i didnt have the camera) is that if you approach them in a car they will not run away as fast and you can get a lot closer compared to on foot; where you are obviously a human and a threat. Deer aint to bright... thanks for the comment. Link to comment
hansendj 0 Posted September 17, 2006 Well, this is a great photo then to have been overexposed when shot. I didn't think it would have picked up all that color. As for the whole walking/driving thing, I never thought about that either. Its funny that came up though because I was driving back this afternoon from taking those shots I just posted when I saw a deer and two fawns on the side of the road. I was able to get within maybe 20 feet of them in my truck and they just kept on eating. And that was with the babies there! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 24, 2006 Good catch. The bambi is shown with precious lines and pose. May be a bit too static but panning animals is extra hard - requires more than skill. Link to comment
