gungajim 75 Posted September 11, 2006 Yes, I think B&W works better. The stone is very washed out by the sun in the color version. Also, I think it would have been better if you could have backed up a bit of widened the lens so that gatehouse and wall in the lower right aren't clipped off. The castle itself is very interesting and a well chosen subject. Link to comment

Under such difficult light conditions a polarizing filter is essential but, when using it, don't forget of the position of the axis of your lens in respect to the sun. It should be 90 degrees or as close to it as possible in order to get the maximum effect.If you ever come back to that impressive fortress I would like to see a wider image giving us a perspective of the setting of the fort in relation to the territory dominated by it. BTW, the B&W version works better, IMHO Link to comment
