mwaks 0 Posted September 8, 2006 Looks very good to me. The trees help give a sense of proportion. I have never seen one in person. Why do you say you have to do it over again? The only thing that needs to be done is remove the white specks. Then it would be perfect. Link to comment
hilander 0 Posted September 8, 2006 I think it's not bad at all. But aren't those white specks stars? I would not remove them if they were. Link to comment
mwaks 0 Posted September 8, 2006 Yes, if those are stars keep them. A good print would probably look much better then looking at a computer monitor. I think the brightest star lower middle just above the tree needs a reduction in brightness. Other then that, it's perfect! Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted September 9, 2006 Good, for a first attempt. Solid composition. It's actually a little overexposed, as can be seen in the lower left patch of solid green. More noticeable, however, is your focus: either it was very windy, or in the darkness, your camera misfocused. Link to comment
yodo 0 Posted September 9, 2006 Thank you for your comments. I appreciate it. Yes the white spots are stars. And I was using a 24-70mm sigma for the first time. I had problem with the focus, specially at night... I guess i need a special lesson for it !!! ;-) Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted September 9, 2006 If you shot this at the wide end of the focal length, you can set your focus to near infinity, and use an aperture of f/8 or f/11. That should give you a pretty good depth of field. Link to comment
sawicki 0 Posted September 16, 2006 Beautiful picture. The lit trees are wonderful in contrast with the aurora here. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted September 16, 2006 Very good for the composition but it is true that the trees are rather out of focus. Link to comment
giorgio.luciano 0 Posted November 10, 2006 WOW !!! can you share a bit of detail about the exposure time ? It's really impressive ! I wish I was there to catch a photo like this Link to comment
